Cherry Desk

This cherry desk started when I was deciding what to do with a medium sized slab that I had flattened. I didn’t want to go too thin with it but the corner on the narrow end rolled down hill. I decided to add a walnut insert to raise the corner back up to the height of the rest of the slab. Using the CNC router, I made the insert and then carved out the negative space on the slab for it to fit into. Once the insert was dry it went through the sander to level everything up before heading back to the CNC to cut a groove where the two woods came together. I then added a bronze shaded epoxy into the groove before final sanding was done. The legs were designed to mimic the style of the top while not overshadowing it.

The desk and the custom made chair are both available for sale. Click here
